FTTR Slave ONU

FTTR Slave ONU (Fiber to the Room Slave Optical Network Unit) is a terminal device in FTTR all-optical networking architecture, functioning as an extension unit of the Master ONU. Connected via fiber or optical splitters to the master device, it converts optical signals to electrical signals and distributes them to in-room terminals (e.g., Wi-Fi 6/7 APs, smart devices). Leveraging PON technologies (e.g., GPON/XG-PON), it supports plug-and-play operation, high bandwidth (symmetric 10Gbps+), and low-latency transmission, with an embedded management module enabling coordinated networking with the Master ONU to ensure seamless roaming and balanced signal coverage. Deployed in multi-room scenarios like residences and enterprises, FTTR Slave ONU simplifies cabling complexity using invisible fibers or pre-connectorized solutions, enhancing user experience. It is a key enabler for extending gigabit optical networks to high-bandwidth applications such as ultra-HD video and VR/AR.
